disguising the basics

Just a few penny pinches
following on the theme of fussy teenager lol

ive found if i pour basics fresh orange into our juice jug and put in the fridge there is no moaning about the value juice - it looks posher

and the value biscuits?
yes i do the same put them in  a glass cookie jar and hey presto no whining about cheap biscuits-they all get eaten
with no moaning- why does packaging make people feel so different about a product?

does anyone ever feel conscious while shopping if your trolly is full of the basics?

  1. No I have give up worrying about what others think, it makes me laugh when you see people shopping in lidl and then they put the shopping in Waitrose bags - probably just for show for the neighbours.
Where did you get the jug from Sammie I have been hunting everywhere for one of those? xx

  3. I am too busy being gobsmacked by how much expensive prepared food most people pile into their trolleys to care what they think of my choices. I hope that they keep on that way and keep well away from the reduced section where I mainly shop.

  4. I do like the jug you have for the fridge. I'll have to keep a look out for one like it. I'm not good with juice cartons and end up spilling everywhere!
I don't bother feeling conscious of my shopping anymore, except for cheap tinned potatoes. Horrid things but not once I have transformed them into Homity Pie. 😊 X

    2. That made me laugh. My daughter used to be mortified if she had a 'Lidle Yoghurt' in her packed lunch. I emptied it into a little plastic tupperware type tub and she was happy.

  5. Great idea for teens, although you shouldn't have to disguise them at all but I understand completely how it is when they reach a certain age. I remember as a child I would have been horrified if one of my mates had spotted my mom with an Aldi carrier bag, they would have taken the mick for weeks!
