Hello all
I thought I was run down due to worrying about my dad being taken Ill, I felt like I had a bad cold and chesty cough, I struggled through going to work, literally dragged myself to work, the next day I was suffering a fever in bed and just couldn’t make it to work I couldn’t even walk and was suffering extreme lower back pain in my right side , the OH convinced me to go to the doctors so we managed to get a late appointment, I struggled into the gp and after a few tests he said he thought I had pneumonia and that I would need an X-ray but no point going now as the department closes at 4pm, it would be upto me if I wanted to go to a&e and wait for an X-ray there , he advised me to wait and go the next day, prescribed me some antibiotics and sent me off ..
I managed to take the first antibiotics and the OH insisted on going to a&e to get X-ray’d as I was in so much pain breathing ..

We arrived at a&e and waited to be seen, I got called in after about an half hour wait, as soon as I walked through the door the nurse took one look at me and said why on earth are you not in hospital , that’s more or less the last thing I remember,  she took my blood sugar levels and they were through the roof, before we knew it I was being hooked up to an iv drip wired upto moniters and being transferred via blue flashing lights to Blackburn Hospital I was in a Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and spent 24 hours in resus, it’s a potentially life-threatening complication of diabetes ... DKA is typically diagnosed when testing finds high blood sugar, low blood pH, and ketoacids in either the blood or urine.  treatment of DKA is with intravenous fluids and insulin..

They found I was type 1 Diabetic, had pneumonia, and needed two blood transfusions for anemia .. I’m home now and getting used to injecting insulin and testing my blood sugar four times a day , still on a mountain load of tablets and antibiotics and off work for another few weeks yet, I have my first appointment with the diabetic clinic tomorrow so they can review my levels I’ve been struggling to get them right so already had insulin increased , fingers crossed I can get some more information at my appointment it’s all been a whirlwind the past couple of weeks. I’m also waiting for an appointment to have a camera inserted as they say I am loosing blood into my stomach so on tablets for ulsers too ! 

Thank you all for the well wishes for my dad.. he’s still the same, the heart attack has really knocked him he’s scared to go to sleep and refuses to go upto bed at night with my mum, they’ve never been apart and it’s taking its toll on my poor mum, they’ve been back to the doctors and they have put dad on anti depressants and diazepam, fingers crossed this helps for now as he is getting no rest at all ..

Better late than never, in true Sammie style it doesn't rain it pours 

i'm glad to see that back of 2018

fingers crossed 2019 is better, the start hasn't been to great for us already ..

I had a phone call around 11pm the night before new years eve, its always a dread when the phone goes that time of night, it was Mum, 'Dads had as massive heart attack '

earlier that day mum had messaged to say Dad and Gav (brother) we cutting some trees down in my brothers garden, Dad gets bored and likes to do a bit for us kids when about, they were staying for xmas in London at my brothers..

So the following morning we packed up and got ourselves ready for a 300mile car drive to Croydon....the traffic was horrendous and should have taken us 4 hours 40 mins, it took 7 and a half hours zzzzz

We finally got there had a quick cuppa and then had to drive another half hour to st Georges Hospital in Tooting...poor Dad what a state he was in, this heart attack had bloody knocked him for six, he was absolutely black and blue all over where the paramedics had been working on him, attached to every bloody machine going, he was disorientated and confused and kept trying to pull out wires while setting all these different machines off, he had no idea who we were, and kept on crying :( so sad to see, ive never seen my dad in hospital or ill like that before it was a shocker, so that was new years eve, new years day we had to travel all the way home again due to work commitments and such, we spent the whole day with dad and set off around 7pm in the evening, he had rallied around a little, by now and was more settled thank goodness.

We hit the M25 and had been on it half an hour before some poor soul decided to jump off the bridge and onto the motorway three cars in front.....standstill for an hour .....we got home at  1am new years day ... the most horrendous thing ever  RIP to that person, i said a prayer for you as we drove past your body laying on the motorway ..

I’m not even joking ... urrrrrrgh 

As per its still blinking freezing in Lancashire, im working all day today and the boiler has still not been fixed, im absolutely frozen through even my xmas jumper isn't helping lol

I've not stopped eating all day today, maybe boredom, or the cold,  im working alone so no patients in, just answering the phone, booking appointments and sorting deliveries out.

I see the xmas veg have started to appear M&S at 40p a bag and Tesco's are 29p i've not seen what Asda and Aldis are yet, i shall be stocking up on potatoes and storing them in a paper primark bag and somewhere dark they've lasted a long while like that before..all helps doesn't it..

OH has recovered from the bug, missed the works xmas do but there was no way she would have made that in her state,  i ended up a bit iffy but thankfully no sickness, im awful at being sick  haha

I kept on waking up last night, i went to the loo four times, this is starting to be a regular thing and i couldn't tell you the last time i actually slept through the night, im wondering if a trip to the GP is needed ! then id be led there for ages thinking about Christmas and how im really not feeling it this year, must be an age thing ho hum

Little Lad is sorted but Big Lad needs a little something else, so hard when they get older, i thought it would be easier.. compared to Little man the pile is small but the things that are small cost allot ..heck probably worrying to much 

Little Lad has his Christmas class party today so went to school dressed in his smart shirt and pants, no school work today just plenty of party food and games..OH has gone to pick him up , i hope hes had a good day :) 

Big Lad breaks up from college on Wednesday, he's had so much work on im sure he'll be glad of the Christmas break

Hes doing Media Makeup at Craven college Skipton, travels there and back everyday on the bus a 2 hour journey..hes never complained once and is excelling marvellously .. he has his own Instagram channel as they all do nowadays haha ..camp as christmas and bloody gorgeous :) and yep thats makeup all done by Big Lad

Ohh i'm so annoyed i wrote a huge post and then poof just like that it vanished

Absolutely freezing up North all day yesterday but

didnt stop Nipper having his walk 

All warm again and snoring his little head off 

I had to go into town for a few xmassy bits and bobs, party bag things, and to return something to Next

A few bargains at Tesco were found 

This lovely Christmas arrangement should have been £10 we paid £1

Christmas wreath was 60p marked down from £6

I managed to defrost myself for the second time that day 

Started work at 2pm - the boiler was broke so again froze to death for the third time 

OH has been up since 2am with an awful stomach bug

ive been emptying buckets, disinfecting bathrooms, and cleaning up since then

We were going to have a sausage casserole for tea tonight but i think its fat chance of that happening lol

Still got Nipper to walk, shopping to do, its pouring icy rain, presents to wrap, tree to put up, and  im sure much more 

i better get cracking

Id been on a cleaning mission yesterday before work in the afternoon..I've often used zoflora in the past and now took a liking to it again, i spritzed the house and cleaned the bathroom, next minute my cat Darcy had jumped in the bath sniffing around and started weeing down the plug hole!!! i just couldn't believe my eyes.. actually shocked at what she was doing..i hope she doesn't take a liking to this cleaning scent as i spritzed everywhere with it ..ooh gawd.. it did seem a bit odd so i googled it, many different answers, maybe just got took short, cystitis, urine infection, blah blah so now I'm worrying she might have something wrong, I've kept an eye on her and shes not doing it  anywhere else so ..fingers crossed..

she was going that long i managed to take a picture lol

just in case anyone's worrying i know zoflora can be dangerous for cats/dogs/animals, i never let them walk on wet floors or anything like that , at the time i had cleaned the bath and dried it all down with a towel 

OH treated us to the cinema last night we asked on facebook if anyone had a code or any offers and someone did so we got 2 adult tickets for the price of one, we also had a voucher to use up for the pub opposite the cinema so we used that and decided to have a carvery each, now no mater how lovely it was it probably wasn't the best choice of food before watching a movie, haha 

oooh dear ...i was too full...haha

we watched Aquaman, not really my type of film but it was actually really good and i did enjoy what i saw hehe

Working till 1 pm today just having a coffee and a penguin while updating, i need to go into town after work to the sorting office ive two parcels to collect, a few bits i need in the £ shop, then home and back out with Nipper hes at the groomers at 4.30 as he needs a few nails clipping..i think thats all for today folks..catch up soon Sammie xx

I had some bad news last night when we got home a school friend had passed away. he had an aneurysm on the Saturday and was declared brain dead on the Sunday, so awfully sad, RIP James.

Its so cold up North, they keep threatening snow but yet to see any just freezing rain and the odd sleet shower now and then, oh and the winds have been horrendous

Working a swap today so i can finish early and not miss Little Sons first nativity at school..hes a donkey... lol lets hope he gets on ok the teachers have said hes not too keen , so we shall see, he only turned four in June so one of the youngest in his class

First day of school picture .. like butter wouldnt melt haha ..

Ive been trying to get Nipper in at the groomers for two weeks even though he's walked where he's been so poorly his nails could do with a cut ..its been a nightmare trying to get him in, and he hates people touching his feet so im really dreading that ..meh ..

I've still to get the Xmas tree up, i have started with a few window stickers and re arranging everything ready but yet to get all the mounds of boxes out the loft..i must do thou .

Not sure whats for tea tonight, a rummage in the freezer when i get home, there's plenty in there albeit oddments im sure we can cobble something up, i really want to run this freezer down, not been shopping yet this week so need to see what can go with what and just buy the essentials, the cupboards are pretty well stocked so its just a few fresh bits and pet foods so hopefully a not expensive spend week .

A messy relationship breakdown

New windows being fitted in the whole house .. never again, been nothing but trouble since

Putting my sister and her then fella up ... never ever again !!

Unexpectedly met someone .. ooh  

Being attacked by my sisters boyfriend last xmas and having to go to court - he got off

My sister was to scared to turn up so that was that

We then found out he'd been beating her behind closed doors

The unexpected person has been right under my nose for yeeeeears - just didnt see it at all

Realised this is the person ive been waiting for all these years .. 

Unexpected person and i got engaged - yipee

Big son left high school

Little son left nursery

Big son started college

Little son started school

Had lots of trouble with Nipper being poorly - fingers crossed hes on the right path now -need to find insurance for him !

Went abroad 1st time in yeeeeeeeeeears

Went camping in Cornwall

Went to the Isle Of Wight to see family

Sister went back to x fella and now were all back in court again ..he broke her eye socket and
knocked teeth out..threatening her by saying to tell police she fell down stairs ..

courts been adjourned till Jan 2nd

Got a free freezer off facebook..so happy plenty of stocking up room now

Probably lots more bits in between ....but.....

Coppering up

Hi all
It's been one of those getting jobs done days today
The cat trays needed a good bleaching out so they got done this morning a stinky job but needs must lol

It's been a rainy morning but looks to be fining up again now so I've managed to get a full load of washing out and on the line

I've defrosted the freezer, absolutely hate that job but again needs must I've sorted through the draws and had a good sort out,I can see what we actually have now

Ooh much better now all clean and tidy



All the bills have been paid this week and I now have 0 in the bank until payday next Friday

There is £7 odd in my purse and about £7 in coppers so I may have to nip to Tesco and change them in the coin machine is all money at the end of the day and I think we are going to need it this week for milk and bread etc

There is plenty to use up in the freezer and there's plenty of pasta, rices, noodles, pulses etc in the cupboard

There's yogurts cheese milk bacon eggs and salad stuff in the fridge 

 Cauliflower carrots potatoes in the veg basket

Plenty of tea and coffee

And biscuits and bits in the treat draw

I don't think we will starve

And on a plus it helps use everything up

I'm not panicking yet

Tonight me and the teenager are going to watch a film I've got some microwave popcorn as a treat to use up and might make a vegetarian curry for us a fake away evening there's plenty of quorn pieces in the freezer I can soon rustle up a sauce to go with it 

OH is with family this evening so it's just me and the boy 

That's about it for today so I'll pop back tomorrow with some more ramblings on

Raining cats and dogs

Good evening all
It's been a rainy day today up north
It certainly it's starting to feel wintery the evening's are drawing in now and usually pretty dark by 9.30pm

We've all been at work all day and feeling pretty shattered to be honest I'm looking forward to a nice cup of tea then of to bed with the kindle

Look at these silly cats it's been absolutely pouring down and they won't come in

Both looking at me like I'm crackers lol

I didn't get very far they realised I went upstairs
Look I can't even have a wee in piece

Does anyone's else's pets follow you to the bathroom lol

And what on earth it's pixie doing?
I bleached the bathroom earlier she's giving it a good old sniff

Right-e-oh I'm off to bed I'm tired and cold tonight

Oh before I go look at these lovely candle holders I got from the poundshop not bad for a pound each I've got some vanilla tea lights in them my go to scent reminds me of the seaside 

I also saw some Yankee wax melts in poundworld called Santa's Treat 

Oh my they smelt divine like standing in a cookie shop

I had to walk away from those thou they had the S word on and that's mighty early yet

cha cha slide

Yesterday i was in a foul mood

no idea why 

nothing special happened

i finished work at 5.30

the OH met me from work and we walked to aldi

i forgot she invited my sister and brother in law for tea last night

oh bugger it i couldn't be bothered at all ..ho hum

i was looking around aldi for some inspiration

i filled and unfilled the basket several times, walked round and round several times

OH got the hump 

words were exchanged

she left for home

i carried on shopping

THEN

some elderly woman grabbed my arm and said

"oh dear is your daughter alright"

Bloody daughter i thought 

(im not that much older than her and look pretty good- so i thought anyway lol)

i said actually its my girlfriend

i said yes im a lesbian rather loudly lol i couldnt help myself i did get some funny looks

at the checkout a rather camp chap said oooh i hope your having that cucumber for tea and winked at me

i went bright red

i then walked home

and slid across the dining room in a very cha cha slide action after stepping in two piles of cat sick

extreme hoovered the downstairs in a mood

then made gammon and pineapple for everyone

turned out nice in the end  :)

kicking out the lodgers

OOh heck

where do i begin

theres been plenty going on ooop North

some good, some not so good but ahwell

i left the laptop charging in the front room, on the sofa,

i was in the kitchen and thought the dining room looked misty'

i ran into the front room and the laptop charger was on fire

i have no idea how or why but just thankful the whole room didn't go up

so-no laptop!

my store cupboard/stockpile/emergency bunker

has gone due to visitors coming to stay for two weeks and ending up staying for twelve weeks

Yep twelve weeks 😮

My sister and her partner decided to move up north so I've been sorting them as much as possible, finding jobs, typing up cvs for them, looking for houses to rent, application forms, ringing up storage firms, van rentals you name it I've blooming done it these past three months, even bought them work boots so they can apply for factory jobs. It's been very hard very trying at times and I've been very skint they have had no money to contribute so things have been very  tough. They moved out last Friday I literally hung the bunting out lol

All they have moved in with is two suitcases of clothes a borrowed mattress from my spare bedroom, toiletries and a bunch of kitchen bits that I've helped pay for, plates cutlery kettle, canisters, sauce pans etc, tbh what a bloody nightmare I'm kinda glad they've gone, although only moved three streets up from me I'll be glad when their furniture arrives from the Isle of Wight so they can get sorted properly hells bloody bells

and ..I'm still skint, skinter than skint, I've council tax, and shopping to do this week then it's the OH's birthday my birthday then DS's birthday all within a

week, today it's our 3 year Anniversary, we didn't buy cards, not because we didn't want to but we've literally no money, think there is about 54p until payday, jeepers, we have bits in so will made a do with what we have, I couldn't be bothered to cook when I finished work this evening so OH fancied cheesy bacon butties and I had ham sandwiches lol were not bothered and we are happy so who cares

Eee will sign off for now I'm starring to rabble on

Hi all

sorry ive not been around for a few days caught the lurgy off my boss and been battling a cold ever since

its a skinter than ever back end to this week what with bills and other expenses im hoping to spend as little as possible on grocery for the coming week

heck

i know when my bills are due out but some months a certain bill decides to alter the date it comes out, like today it wasn't due out until the 1st Feb so this morning i am forty something overdrawn-

bummer

im annoyed as now i will be charged £8 odd from the bank!! not very happy

anywho it will be pay day Friday then the routine starts again of splitting, saving and stretching the pennies for another week

 ho hum

so im making a quorn chilli con carne for tea tonight i will be stretching it out with extra tinned tomatoes, extra red pepper, and a whole tin of kidney beans,

only two for tea tonight so hoping to have plenty left over for portioned up freezer meals

ive had a look in cupboards and freezer so have thrown together a meal plan for the coming week and a shopping list of what we need


Thursday (tonight) - Quorn chilli con carne with rice and homemade yogurt flat bread
(making extra hoping to freeze a few portions of chilli)

Friday- Just me for tea tomorrow so it will be some of the above chilli or something easy like fried egg butty, sausage butty, noodles, or soup.
 ive not much of an appetite with this bloomin cold

Saturday/ Sunday - its just me at home so again easy meals, porridge, toast and soup, pasta or noodles, or something on toast, that will do me just fine

Monday- its always egg, chips and beans, i find this an easy meal when ive done a 9-6pm on a Monday and we all really enjoy this- kinda comfort food

Tuesday- Homemade mince and onion pies, cabbage and roast potatoes
( i will be making extra pastry and making quorn mince and onion pies and beef and onion pies for the freezer)

Wednesday - Just me at home so something easy for me or something grabbed from homemade freezer meals

Thursday - Homemade cauliflower cheese savory rice and onion fried potatoes

Friday- Homemade yogurt pizza, (in the freezer i have all the toppings i need, mozzarella, spinach, peppers, onions, and mascarpone) homemade potato wedges, baked beans

 (choice of puddings for the week  if anyone so wishes -rice pudding-ice cream-peaches-jelly)
will do some baking on the weekend, apple cinnamon buns i think ive apples to use up

Saturday - start again lol

so the actual grocery's i need to complete the upcoming weeks meals

Fresh Orange x2 cartons -  £1.30 Tesco Value
Bag potatoes - 69p Home bargains

we have dog food and cat food, they need biscuits and treats £2 biscuits treats £3
we have laundry supplies
we have cleaning supplies
and we still have some fridge foods and fruit

so altogether a spend of £19.06 for the upcoming weekend and next week i can cope with that i think

ooh its blooming freezing up North, icy on the cars and roof tops again this morning although mighty better than a couple of days ago everywhere was frozen solid i literally ice skated to work lol

not much planned for the weekend fussy teenager is at the x's this weekend, OH is working away, im home alone with the fur babies, fish and Mr man (gecko)
lots to do at home thou the yard wants a good sweeping and a tidy up
i have a half decorated bedroom -tbh i just cant be arsed with it lol
everywhere needs a general tidy up
dont get me started on the front bush (ooh err, the privet hedge out the front :)
dog needs walking
and i need all the above groceries

and i cant be bothered with any of it as feeling all stuffed up with no energy
i shall have to force myself, you never know it might make me feel better

An afternoon of this and that

Hello all

weather not much different ooop North we have had a few misty mornings, wet evenings and its been chilly and grey..roll on spring and hopefully some brighter days

worked this morning and spent this afternoon prepping some bits for the freezer

i had some fresh mozzarella that needed using ive sliced and diced and put in a tub, ready for adding to anything i fancy

what was left of the plums i bought reduced last week have been made into plum crumble, popped into plastic tubs but when frozen will easily pop out and transfer to a small Pyrex for baking in the oven

apples from xmas still sat in the fruit bowl, so they have had the same treatment and have been made into crumbles

a few carrots in the salad draw have started looking a bit well battered lol, fine when peeled thou, and blanched and cooled these are destined for the freezer too

phew not a bad afternoon and saves wasting food

Did a bit of laundry this morning before school and work, hung that up on the maiden, too damp to peg out so the maiden will do

no idea whats for tea tonight something cobbled up i expect haha as long as it is warm and filling we are not too fussy

off to tidy around now
sheesh it never ends

Saving money on shower gel

Firstly thank you for the messages regarding the RSPCA, they finally got back to me and have concluded that yes someone must have been messing around, i said they are welcome to come and check the house for birds if they wish but they insisted that wont be necessary

thank good for that
they also said there was no name as to who reported it, so i still have no idea!

apparently the inspector who came and left the card had also put on the system that it seemed unlikely the right address as my house looked far too tidy from the outside

lol i had to snort at that
even though the bush needs extreme trimming and there were leaves all outside the front door oops but im happy that they agree i have done nothing wrong

So i used to buy our shower gels from one of the pound stores as i figures £1 or 99p was good value for some shower gel compared to some store own brands costing around the same, 89, 99p mark i just used to grab them from Poundland

Until i was in Asda one day and saw there brand of shower gel 250ml for 39p a bottle

hmmm 

i purchased some and can honestly say they smell amazing and clean you just the same

since spotting these and stocking up they can be tricky to find, just like anything else that's good value you will find them on the bottom shelf usually tucked away

but worth a look and definitely worth a purchase

even two bottles amounting to 500ml is worth  the 78p and still cheaper than Poundland

winner 

and i shall be buying these from now on and saving the pennies in return

they come in several scents and they even do a 2 in 1 shower gel and shampoo - double bargain!

The nourish and delight one i use to fill up the hand wash and smells lovely

If you see them give them a go, these will be permanent in our house and ive had no complaints from fussy teenager or the OH

Devastating

No post yesterday im afraid

and i shall keep this short

OH and myself were at the end of a phone for most the day

two friends who moved away to pastures new had found out they had lost their baby

such a sad time

and a horrendous ordeal

she started spotting last week to went to the hospital to be checked they said all was ok as she did experience this with her past two pregnancies with no problems

they didnt scan her, fast forward a week later and again started spotting and was experiencing pain

two days she has been in and out of hospuital to be told sorry no one can scan you for x amount of days as all the team are currently in emergency surgery's, and finally was only offered some kind of pain relief late last night, her husband paid for a private scan at another hospital to be told at 20 weeks, that the baby had died not long after the 12 week scan

last night they induced labor

and thats all we know as of yet

Mr and Mrs R we are so very very sorry and really have no words what a horrendous thing to go through

Someones having a laugh

Someone is, i dont know who, or why

some idiot has taken it upon themselves to start reporting me for various things

i had a knock at the door earlier but was busy so when i actually got to the door no one was there but a card was through the letterbox

this time from the RSPCA

a note to call urgently a inspector Mr Small

ive to contact them about the birds in my care, or lack of care as the card states

i was bloody furious

the only bird in this house is the OH lol unless shes reported me for not looking after her lol

jokes aside i was fuming

i phoned them on the number provided

explained everything and now awaiting a call back from said inspector 

a couple of months ago it was the 

POLICE and SOCIAL SERVICES

again i hadn't heard the door as was upstairs cleaning, i came downstairs with some laundry to put on and as i walked through the dining room to the kitchen i saw a Police officer and another woman with her dressed in plain clothes stood in my kitchen!!

what the hell is going on were my words'

oh she said i think we have the wrong person

the address was correct on her call out but wrong name..hmmm

absolutely furious how the hell can the police have the wrong details on something so serious? i honestly think someone done this on purpose, i have no clue who thou

i was left shaking from the police visit i wondered what on earth was going on first thing you do when you find an officer stood in the kitchen i honestly though something terrible had happend to someone
