Yesterday i was in a foul mood

no idea why 

nothing special happened

i finished work at 5.30

the OH met me from work and we walked to aldi

i forgot she invited my sister and brother in law for tea last night

oh bugger it i couldn't be bothered at all ..ho hum

i was looking around aldi for some inspiration

i filled and unfilled the basket several times, walked round and round several times

OH got the hump 

words were exchanged

she left for home

i carried on shopping

THEN

some elderly woman grabbed my arm and said

"oh dear is your daughter alright"

Bloody daughter i thought 

(im not that much older than her and look pretty good- so i thought anyway lol)

i said actually its my girlfriend

i said yes im a lesbian rather loudly lol i couldnt help myself i did get some funny looks

at the checkout a rather camp chap said oooh i hope your having that cucumber for tea and winked at me

i went bright red

i then walked home

and slid across the dining room in a very cha cha slide action after stepping in two piles of cat sick

extreme hoovered the downstairs in a mood

then made gammon and pineapple for everyone

turned out nice in the end  :)

Value shopping for the stock cupboard

Nipped to Tesco yesterday afternoon i spent £7.80 on this lot, shocked to see so little value ranges in Tesco now and the prices creeping up again, all of this is for the stock cupboard apart from the oats (75p) yogurt (45p) mozzarella (47p)  and reduced bread (37p)

and i literally had to hunt around the shop for it couldnt find, value tin tomatoes, spaghetti hoops, tomato puree or value bleach, was a case of couldnt find them or an empty spot where they should have been grrrr... i went without

Bag of onions 59p

Dry spaghetti 20p

Dry penne 30p

1 x kidney beans 30p
1 x chick peas 39p
2 x passata 70p
2 x rice pudding 40p
2 x peaches 70p
2 x vegetable soup 50p
2 x baked beans 48p
2 x mushy peas 40p

It's a good start for the stock cupboard 😀

must admit ive never tried passata before, assuming you use as would any jar or tomato sauce?
any ideas would be fab

Cant wait for Aldi to open at the end of my road it will save the half hour walk to Tesco and back and they are getting so much dearer, i had to laugh the OH said omg if i had a pound for everytime you said that about bloody Aldi..haha cant help being excited about a grocery shop opening up thats cheap can i  :D 

so this lot is destined for the soon to be under stairs pantry come mini sammie skint shop haha 

i need to make better use of the space in there, i need to get shut of all the crap thats been pilling up, why do we shove everything in the under stairs cupboard? hmm there is space for a small freezer too, one day i will get one, if i see something cheap im in no desperate hurry for one to be honest but it would mean i could prep more..anyway we shall see..there is a whole lot to do in there first 

right time for breakfast and a brew, OH over slept this morning the blooming alarm didn't go off ended up with a sprint for the bus oh dear ..lol

its not so cold oop north today still dull and drizzling thou i do need to walk the dog before work but not in any rush to go out.

welcome to a new follower Sue :) again chuffin thrilled to bits :)

Popped into town this morning we needed some fruit and salad bits so i walked to Aldis bloomin freezing but was warm after walking for 20 minutes :)

super 6 this week all have been 29p

now thats a bargain

i bought a large cucumber 6 salad tomatoes, an iceberg lettuce and spring onions, now i would usually have bought a different lettuce and vine tomatoes from big T but not any more these im sure are just as nice and less than half the price i also picked up two 1kg banana packs total spend in Aldi was just £2.52

if i had bought in big T i would have spent £4.56

 i crossed over the road and nipped in to the little S'brys  i wanted some plain pittas, their basic pittas used to be about 23p now they dont do a basic range and only had pittas at 50p a pack, hmm no thank you,

so i walked to big T , basic pittas are 35p i checked the reduced section as the dates were coming up on the ones on the shelf, score.. found pittas reduced to 23p a packet so i picked two up, im happy paying that, while i was looking there was a Hovis seeded granary loaf reduced to 49p great il stick that in the freezer too, i mooched over to the fresh isle and there was spinach reduced to 75p i needed this item  so grabbed a bag ill lightly blanch and roll into balls for the freezer,
total spend £1.94 should have been £2.95 not great savings but saved a pound and it all helps

while i was in big T i walked round to see weigh up some of the value products, some i buy and some ive not tried yet, first went to the stir fry section, no value stir fry, asked someone , sorry we don't stock it anymore...pfffft next over to the baking isle, value instant custard? nope don't have that anymore just the more expensive  big T one.....pffft.. ok maybe il try the carton orange again, walked to drinks isle, 65p? hells teeth it wasn't that long ago i bought it for around 34p, Tesco value my arse, looks like even the value products are getting hiked up as much as the regular ones are...meh.. really got my back up it did lol.

im making homemade pizza for tea, i have  a base mix in the cupboard, mixed peppers onions motzerella mascrepone and spinach in the freezer, tomato puree, pesto and garlic paste and cheese in the fridge, that's that sorted

il make some potato wedges with some spuds ive had in the fridge for about 2 weeks, nowt wrong with them, they'll  do 

maybe a bit of salad or baked beans with it, see what everyone fancies.
